Extremely rare watch, only 1,120 of these wonderful watches were produced and this was the USA version, one of the most attractive version with its stunning ocean blue dial, instead of the usual two tone versions. The Polaris II (named by Jaeger-LeCoultre after the American Missile) is a timepiece of great rarity and something to treasure. This particular example comes from a classic vintage collection and is presented on the original JLC strap.
The Polaris II incorporates a Caliber 916 mechanical rhodium plated, 17 jewels, bi-directional winding movement and this model is the HPG (High Precision Guaranteed) model.
The Polaris II was produced between 1970 and 1972 and only 1120 pieces were ever made, split between grey, burgundy and this wonderful blue dial. An attractive and unusual feature of this classic dive watch is the alarm feature which is set and activated by the crown at 2 o'clock.
